French Toast

French Toast is just one of the tastiest treats you can make for you and your loved ones. If anyone as a kid remembers begging their parents to get them cinnamon toast crunch as a cereal, but were either let down or worst, only allowed to eat them on weekends. If you belonged to the group of kids where your parents banned those sugary bites, worry no more, you can finally make the adult version at home, and eat them anytime you please.

I made these for my sister when she spent the weekend at my home and she literally devoured them. My husband was of course jealous since he complains he never gets such tasty treats… I meant the insult. So of course, I made him some the following weekend, and he himself who usually does not eat much in one sitting, ate quite a bit of these bad boys.

What I love about French toast is that they are so simple to make, and you can top them off with any seasonal fruit you choose. I decided to top them off with some whipped cream and maple syrup drizzle. I mean, “Go big or go home” right?

French Toast

  • 6 slices toast

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream

  • Strawberries

In a large bowl mix milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg and mix until combined. In a large pan heat oil. Dip toast in liquid mixture covering both sides.

Once pan is heated add toast to the pan and simmer for about 3 minutes, flip and do the same.

Remove from heat and serve.
